10.3.3 formation of the congiuntivo passato

The formation of the congiuntivo passato is easy. It is formed with the present of the auxiliary verb avere (transitive verbs) or with essere (intransitive verbs), for more details see here.

transitive verbs
personal pronoun	a form of the congiuntivo presente	past participle
io tu lui / lei noi voi loro	abbia abbia abbia abbiamo abbiate abbiano	comprato (bought) detto (said) venduto (sold) saputo (known) scritto (written) fatto (done) pagato (paid) inviato (sent)

intransitive verbs
personal- pronoun	a form of the congiuntivo presente	past participle
io tu lui / lei noi voi loro	sia sia sia siamo siate siano	andat(o/a/i/e) (gegangen) venut(o/a/i/e)(gekommen) partit(o/a/i/e) (weg gegangen)

Congiuntivo imperfetto of irregular verbs
Lui ha paura che io gli abbia scritto una lettera. He is afraid that I have written him a letter.
Lui aspetta che noi siamo partiti. He hopes that we have gone.
Loro credono che tu abbia pagato. They hoped that you have paid.
