The futuro semplice is used for events which will happen in the future.

Something that will happen in the future can be described as well with the presente.

The futuro semplice can be used as well to express presumptions.

She may be on holiday.
In Italian you can express as well a contradiction with the futuro semplice.

Lui non parlerà molto, ma è una persona molto generosa.
Maybe he doesn' t speak a lot, but he is a generous person.
If you speak Spanish you already know that the future I can have as well the meaning of must / should. That' s the case in Italian as well, although never used in spoken language. See below an example from the Bible (Exodus, 20).
