16.8.1 exercise 1: concessive and causal conjunctions
In the table below you have pairs of sentences. The sentence is a consecutive clause and the second a causale clause. The meaning is the same because a consecutive clause can always be transformed in a causale clause.
He didn' t study, so he didn' t pass the exam.
Because he didn' t study, he didn' t pass the exam.
Choose the right conjunction in the concessive clause and in the corresponding causal clause.
