18.4 anteriority, simultanity, posteriority

The following table shows the situation if the introductory verb requires the congiuntivo or indicativo. We once again reiterate that in the context of the sequence of tenses the passato prossimo is a tense of the past. It is even a tense of the past in the regions of Italy where the passato remoto is already used.
