5.4 Different flection of the adjective and the noun
Having done Latin at school is not really an enriching experience; it is not something what we consider to get in touch with real life. But in Latin you have very often the situation that the flexion of the nouns is different from the flexion of the adjectives, and that is a kind of brain gymnastics. Let's illustrate with an example what we are talking about.
This case is simple.
il telefono nero => i telefoni neri.
In this case the adjective and the nouns follows the same rule o => i.
But this case is a little bit more complicated.
la chiave cara => le chiavi care.
In this case there are two different rules, e => i (chiave) and a => e (cara).
