Pinocchio rifiuta la medicina proposta dai medici e rischia di morire

I tre medici continuano comunque il loro lavoro e ordinano a Pinocchio di ingoiare una purga, che poi la Fata premierà con una pallina di zucchero. Il burattino però protesta: la purga è troppo amara e lui non la vuole bere. La Fata allora gli spiega che così morirà presto, ma neanche questo convince Pinocchio. La discussione continua fino al giungere di quattro conigli neri, venuti a prendere il piccolo sventurato, che però terrorizzato, decide allora di ingoiare la medicina. Pochi minuti dopo è di nuovo in piena salute e comincia a raccontare alla Fata Turchina l’accaduto. Quando però ella gli chiede che fine abbiano fatto le monete, il burattino mente e dice di averle perdute. Nascondere la verità gli serve però a ben poco, poiché a ogni sua bugia il naso gli cresce a vista d’occhio.

The discussion continues until four black rabbits appear, who have come to take the unfortunate little one, who is then so horrified that he decides to take the medicine. Only a few minutes later he is in the best of health again and begins to tell the turquoise blue fairy what has happened. But when she asks him what happened to the coins, the wooden dummy lies and says that he lost them. However, covering up the truth is of little use to him, because every lie makes his nose grow, as can be seen with the naked eye.
