Pinocchio anziché diventare un ragazzo fugge nel Paese dei Balocchi con l’amico Lucignolo

Pinocchio, tutto eccitato per l’indomani, decide di dare una festa per celebrare la propria trasformazione in un bambino vero. Il mattino seguente si prepara dunque a invitare i compagni di scuola e primo tra tutti si reca da Lucignolo, il più birbante tra i suoi amici, ma quello a cui vuole più bene. Questi confessa però di non poter venire, poiché quella notte stessa partirà per il Paese dei Balocchi, un posto privo di scuola, lavoro o qualsiasi tipo di dovere. Pinocchio dapprima vuole andare subito via per rispettare la promessa fatta alla fata di tornare a casa presto, ma poco dopo si convince ad aspettare con Lucignolo il carro che lo porterà al meraviglioso paese.

Instead of becoming a boy, Pinocchio flees to Toyland with his friend Lucignolo Pinocchio, excited about tomorrow, decides to throw a party to celebrate his own transformation into a boy. So the next morning he sets out to invite his schoolmates and first of all he goes to Lucignolo, who may be the biggest crook of all his friends, but the one he loves the most. However, the latter reveals to him that he cannot come with him because he is leaving that same night for Toyland, a place where there is no school, no compulsion to work and other chores. Pinocchio actually wants to leave immediately to keep the promise he made to the fairy, but then decides to wait with Lucignolo for the cart that will take him to the magical land.
