Quando uscirono dal caffè, prima di lasciare il tedesco, Mario avrebbe voluto ringraziarlo, e tentò di ripetere in tedesco una parola di ringraziamento che si era fatta suggerire dal Gaia. Ma poi il Gaia stesso lo interruppe:
